REMINDER - Don’t neglect the veg ๐Ÿฅ—❤️ | Pretending I’m in Australia with this very summery, friend winning salad ๐Ÿฅ— | I had a real craving for a big salad today. I know it’s strange to crave raw veg and summer fruits in the winter time but it might have something to do with the fact that I’ve been living off crumpets, porridge and mince pies for the past few days - moving house innit... . So I listened to my veggie cravings and whipped this baby up for lunch: . Rocket, Mango, goats cheese, tomatoes sugar snap peas with a honey and lime dressing (1 tbs olive oil, juice of half a lime, teaspoon honey, salt and pepper). . Anyone else find it hard to eat veg around Christmas and winter when all you want is some kind of pastry and chocolate? . I say PORQUE NO LAS DOS? (Why not both) . Eat the salad AND the chocolate. Both are important for optimal health of the mind, body and soul. . Ps. I know I’m breaking the mindful eating rules, but I’m obsessed with Sapiens. Although, any else get thrown into a deep existential crisis every time they read/listen to it? . Just me then. . #vertuecrew #vertuemethod #lesspantsmoreplants . S n o w D a y ๐Ÿป❄️ Twinning in our teddy coats... #MrKandTux | This coat is AMAZING, faux fur @karen_millen and literally the warmest coat I own - I can actually wear it with just a tee under even when it’s zero degrees - linked the new season versions which I’m sorely tempted by in my stories... | And now I’ll be staying in and the hardest decision for the rest of my day will be Netflix or Amazon Prime. Happy holidays ✨ | Details linked @liketoknow.it http://liketk.it/2u2T8 #liketkit #LTKholidaystyle #LTKfamily #LTKeurope #LTKsalealert . . . . . . . . #spitz #scotstreetstyle #fblogger #fauxfurcoat #furcoat #weeklyfluff #lotd #thatsdarling #fashionblogger #lookbook #scotbloggers #scottishblogger #ootd #winterstyle #luxury #fwis #snowday #snowdog #myKM #bodenbyme #sorelstyle

SAD AF | Trying to act natural when really I’m just trying to shiver and grit my way physically and emotionally through the winter because I most definitely suffer from S.A.D. I am half aussie, half Islander - Winter in the UK is unmistakably poles apart from what my genetic make up and upbringing requires for thriving (and surviving LOL). Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a form of recurrent depressive or bipolar disorder, with episodes that vary in severity. What’s also important to remember is that individual differences in the genetic makeup of the serotonin system (happy and chilled neurotransmitter) may have a significant impact on one’s vulnerability to mental illness; “The short-allele polymorphism for serotonin transporter is more common in patients with SAD than in healthy people.”* What I is tryin’ to say is that is that our ability to process and consolidate emotions is physiological. So those statements like ‘Happiness is a choice’ are naive and somewhat insensitive, because sometimes you can wake up and it really doesn’t feel like a choice; it feels like your brain is stuck on ‘Neg-Mode’ and no matter how hard you try, that damn switch is jammed. I guess the reason I am highlighting this is because; a. This stuff is important to me because health involves much more than just my body. It’s about emotional, physical AND mental agility and intelligence b. I felt as though a bit of truth and hashtag authenticity was important to share to break down these uncomfortable stigmas and taboos our society has created around mental health chat and c. Meditation, yoga and exercise keeps me sane-ish. Anyone else in the SAD crew? Or is it just me waving my SAD flag? The harsh truth about el internet is that despite my intimate and emotional caption, I will totally be asked something apathetic like: ‘Where are your jeans from?’ so outfits are TAGGED ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝ‍♀️ #vertuecrew #vertueliving #vertuous
